Artist Statement

My work deciphers delusions of grandeur. It intricately dissects fascinations and desires I have held since childhood such as fairy tales, Bible stories, glamour, self-adornment, attractiveness, morality, and Hollywood culture. By plucking specific poignant images from these categories and combining them in playful and sometimes surreal narratives, I free myself to externalize and enjoy a complex world all my own. Mine is an atmosphere filled with cocktail parties, jewelry trees, romance, forest clearings, evening gowns, morality, animals, drama, beauty, and a oneness with God. Yes, all at the same time.

2008
